Wants to have the aesthetics of a movie that questions the systems it takes place in and it does an interesting job setting the ground work at first, but the second half just becomes Taken with Leonardo DiCaprio as the comic relief

In every psychosis there’s a little bit of truth

Every once in a while a studio will put out a mid budget movie that has no right being as good as it is. This is not one of those movies but I do appreciate the try

Not knowing the plot of the movie going in is a privilege
Spoilerish
Does a really good job at selling the hard fake so you believe it’s an airport romance that’s very tone deaf but brings it around into a good for her ending

Phillip rivers watched this movie and tore Daniel Jones’s acl himself

The movie that made me want to post on Letterboxd again. Movies like this are a lost art of camp and dedication to a so called “tired trip” but it really is dedication to wha we as humans need. Directors today look at a movie like this much like the kings of Europe looked to the Roman aqueducts with reverence and an understanding that we have lost the knowledge to create something similar

Perfect with a pint of fosters and a chair 3 feet from the tv
★★★☆☆

Really fun premise with great set and effect design. Almost tries to be too much too fast, it would have been great as a tv series but felt like they had to do too much too fast

If Tolkien was a Reddit mod he still couldn’t dream of creating such a masterpiece.
Taking inspiration from the lord of the rings trilogy, Ben hur, Scorsese, avengers endgame, and the cat in the hat (2003) Jared Hess was able to create a piece of cinema that could not be created before and no one would dare to create after.
Many will criticize this film for being low brow, derivative, and soulless. To that the Minecraft movie has one thing to say “I know you are but what am I?”

There have not been ENOUGH sequels to this movie.
Give me a Greta Gerwig character study of the minions and the toil they live.
The next minions movie can be a signal and a vision for the proletariat a la Battleship Potemkin.

Sometimes goofy movies is best movies. Yay women.

The perfect movie for your uncle who thinks inglorious bastards is too woke, but brad Pitt in a uniform makes him feel things that he hasn’t repressed as well as he thought

Steve Buschemmi, more like Steve Deservesanemmy. The movie that proves that no matter the circumstances Midwesterners can not fuck. Lots of personality into each character, maybe the message can't be known and is different to each viewer maybe it's about the futility of crime and trying to appear as someone you're not.

Like if they made a sequel to dune except my dad wasn't there to explain the lore this time

yes king be the worm. I like movies where I can make up a back story to sound like a smart nerd

A thrilling allegory about the ban of Tik Tok.
★★☆☆☆

honestly a flop. feels like the worst parts of an airport romance novel.
Okay I wrote the review before the movie was over and it had a slight more of a soul at the end there but it was still very much a Coleen hoover book.
